H2O Water Project
Kayaking in the Don Valley
Explore the wonders of our local waterways with our brand new kayaking program!
We’re thrilled to bring you a new opportunity to view the Port Lands, Tommy Thompson Park and Toronto Islands from a completely new perspective. The Don River is at the heart of everything we do at DMWTD and one of the best ways to appreciate its significance to our ecosystem is from its waters. We want to provide everyone with the chance to do just that with this new program.
Every Sunday morning we will meet at our new location on Cherry Beach. Groups will be led by an experienced kayaker and a member of the DMWTD team. We’ll take you on an exploratory tour of our local waterways, providing educational insight as we look at the impact of human activity on the health of our rivers and water systems. We’ll even host river and shoreline cleanups where the kayaks will be used to carry the litter and access parts of the Don that are inaccessible by foot!
Like all our programs participation is completely free and all equipment will be provided. The program is suitable for beginners and experienced kayakers alike.
Every Sunday 9:15 am - 1:30 pm (weather permitting)
Registration opens the week before each date on Fridays at noon.
