Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteerism is at the heart of Don’t Mess with the Don and we depend on our wonderful volunteers for everything that we do! We are a volunteer-led organization and whether it’s for a clean up, stewardship, or an event we are always happy to welcome new members. We have a variety of ways that you can get involved, check out the list below to find out more about how you can get become part of our community.

Clean Ups

Clean ups are are where our story began. We do public clean ups throughout the year at different locations in the Don Valley.

We are happy to offer private group volunteer opportunities for local businesses who want to make a positive impact on the world. We can accommodate groups of up to 200 people.

Help us regenerate the natural ecosystem of the Don Valley by removing invasive plant species and restoring native ones! Held at our stewardship site in Sun Valley.

We often put on one off events on top of our regular programming that need volunteer support! This could be anything from a running race to tree planting.

School Groups

We have partnered with many schools for full or half day events. with students grades 3 - 12. Visit our stewardship site or we can come to you for in-classroom talks and workshops!

Student Volunteer Hours

We can offer student volunteer hours through any of our programs or events. Select the one that interests you most and be sure to bring your form!

Community Groups

We love to partner with community groups for any of our programs. We can help with all the logistics and planning. All we need is that your group be ready with volunteers that are eager to make a difference.
