For Schools
Partner with us to help us protect and restore the Don Valley!
Don’t Mess with the Don partners with public and private schools to provide activities and education for students in grades 3 to 12.
Many schools have large green spaces nearby. Schools frequently join DMWTD for Clean-Ups and Stewardship events, or for Nature Walks in the Don Valley or elsewhere. We accommodate large and small numbers of students for full- or half-day events. We also engage with classrooms on growing and planting native plants for the Don Valley.
DMWTD can also come to your classroom or school for presentations on invasive species and their impact on Toronto’s Ravines and Parks, or for talks on the impact of development and garbage on the Don Valley. All our presentations can be linked to your school’s curriculum and learning outcomes.
DMWTD can improve students’ connection to nature and understanding of the impact humans have on our natural world. We also emphasize the role of stewardship and community in maintaining, restoring, and living in harmony with the City’s parks and ravines.
